As a U3A ACT activity, the Brindabella Orchestra especially welcomes musicians aged fifty and above, as these people are eligible to join U3A ACT

The Orchestra is also interested in recruiting younger players to extend the range of instrumentalists available to the Orchestra and to  strengthen its instrumental sections so as to enable the Orchestra to perform a wider and more varied repertoire.

At the moment the Orchestra is interested in recruiting more string especially violins (1st and 2nd), Cellos and Double Bass and brass players, in particular French horn and trumpet players.

The Orchestra welcomes players who play at an intermediate level or above.  The required level of proficiency varies for different instrument groups.  If you are interested in joining our Orchestra, or would like to find out more about us, please read the information for members page and contact us via email: info@brindabellaorchestra.net.

Fees

Membership of U3A ACT is a requirement for Orchestra members aged fifty years and above.  Annual Orchestra membership fee for U3A members is $110, or $150 for non-U3A members.

Potential new members are welcome to attend one or two rehearsals, without obligation, to see if they would like to join the orchestra.
